At Motivations our goal has always been to make available to everyone the benefits and well-being that an active, healthy lifestyle can bring.

We know that active aging presents unique challenges and we hope, with this program, to lessen the effects, both physical and mental that members 65+ face every day.

Motivations is proud to offer Muskoka's only complete membership exclusively for 65+ adults...your own music, your own schedule of classes all with your peers, friends and neighbours. Motivations offers 3 classes per week, these classes have been designed to increase mobility, reduce stress, encourage flexibility, balance and cardio endurance...all while having fun and decreasing the signs of osteoporosis!

The huge success of this program has proven that this type of option should be available to all "older" YOUNG adults! We marvel every day at their spirit, ability and progress...

The return of Restorative Yoga - Relax, Rejuvenate and Restore with Lorraine and Kym

When was the last time you did something to heal & nurture your well-being? Self-care is not indulgent!

Relax, rejuvenate and restore…

  • 8-week session
  • Calm your mind and your system
  • Increase flexibility & ease of movement
  • Boost your immune system
  • Gentle and safe movement for all ages
  • Your instructor is either Lorraine or Kym

Restorative yoga is simply that - restorative. It is the centering of your breath and body - aligning the physical and mental by practicing stillness or gentle movement for extended periods of time. Props will assist in helping you to hold poses longer and adjustments can be made to all movements to make this practice suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Fall session begins Monday, September 18th

1-2pm - All are welcome

$75+hst – drop ins are now $15(tax included)

Yoga is a practice, not a performance


 


 

Chair Fitness & Gentle Movement for Older Adults with Lorraine vanLuit

Get Fit Where you Sit!


Chair exercises effectively assist elderly individuals to exercise and move without putting undo pressure or strain on their bodies. Movement works to lubricate joints and keep them flexible, strengthen and stabilize individual muscles and increase blood circulation. These exercise and movement outcomes result in a decreased number of falls and an increased ability to better accomplish day-to-day physical activities.

v Gentle, safe and slow movements – will not put strain or pressure on your body

v Keep joints flexible, strengthen and stabilize individual muscles and increase blood circulation.
